Camping under the Derbyshire sky
Our grass pitches are approximately 59ft x 30ft (18m x 9m). Got a particularly large tent? Give us a call and we should be able to accommodate you. Grass pitches do not have electric hook up, so it is worth reading our top tips for camping without electric before you arrive.
Trailer tents, roof tents and small campervans are all welcome on a grass pitch. In some areas we can place a caravan or motorhome on an electric hardstanding pitch next to, or opposite, a non electric grass tent pitch. These spots book up quickly, so reserve early to guarantee your place.
There is plenty of room for children to run around and play, and you will not be pitched too close to your neighbours. You are welcome to bring your own fire pit, as long as it is raised off the ground and covered with a mesh grill.

Busy large campsite. Good for families. Has an outside pool, no need to book for this which made it busy in hot weather. Has a large pub and playground. Lovely walks from campsite into Ashbourne and the trissington trail.Posted on Google![]()

Few days camping, beautiful location. Camping fields are very spacious, the pitches are more than generous. Electricity is unavailable on grass pitches but if thats not an essential then its perfect. Its a very well maintained site, very friendly staff too. The pizzas on the menu at the resident pub are not to our taste but reasonably priced. Not a great choice food wise but luckily we had stocked up on essentials. The pool is busy at all times which is understandable being in school holidays. The games room is a nice touch however many unsupervised children can make it uncomfortable. Decent sized play area and strict rules in place to keep the noise levels low. However with that said, the rules on no fires or charcoal barbecues are not being adhered to. Overall though a beautiful place to camp and will definitely stay again.Posted on Google![]()

This is very Nice Caravan and Camping Holiday Park . I only wish a Visit from the Owners / Workers on site after some really Bad Storms , to see if we were OK or that we Needed Anything to make our stay Comfortable with our Stay at Callow Top Caravan Park. Apart from the Storms the site is great .

Camping FAQs
How big are the pitches?
Grass tent pitches are approximately 59ft x 30ft (18m x 9m), with plenty of room for children to play and space between you and your neighbours. If you have a particularly large tent, give us a call and we should be able to accommodate you.
Do the grass pitches have electric hook up?
Almost all of our grass tent pitches are non-electric, as our electric pitches are hardstanding and not suitable for tents. We have only a single grass pitch with hook-up on site, so availability on it is usually very limited. It’s worth reading our top tips for camping without electric before you arrive.
Can I bring a campervan?
Trailer tents, roof tents and small campervans are all welcome to book onto a grass pitch. In some areas we can place a caravan or motorhome on an electric hardstanding pitch next to, or opposite, a non-electric grass tent pitch. These spots book up fast, so reserve early.
Are BBQs, fire pits and campfires allowed?
BBQs, including disposable ones, can be used for cooking as long as they’re at least 12 inches off the ground, and bricks are available to borrow from reception. Enclosed stoves such as chimeneas are fine, as are fire pits covered with a mesh grill. Campfires and open fire pits are strictly prohibited. We’re also sorry, but Chinese lanterns can’t be used as they’re a fire hazard.
Are dogs allowed on the campsite?
Yes, we are a dog friendly park and dogs are welcome on the campsite. We just ask that they are kept on a lead around the site and that you clean up after them.
What time is quiet time?
Quiet time is 10.30pm. We are a family site with minimal on site lighting so you can enjoy the dark Peak District skies, so bring a torch. If you want loud music and parties into the early hours, we are not the site for you.
