If you like to get out and about you will be spoilt for choice. There is so much to do across Derbyshire and Staffordshire, and our camping, touring and self-catering accommodation makes the perfect base.
Adventure starts at the gate
We have direct access to the Tissington Trail from the park, and there are plenty more cycle trails and national cycle routes to follow in the surrounding area. Footpaths lead straight from the site too, whether you want a 20 minute stroll into Ashbourne or the two hour walk to Dovedale.

From a gentle walk along the trail to quad biking, climbing and white water rafting, there is plenty within easy reach of the park.

The Peak District is perfect on foot. Footpaths lead from the site, from a short stroll into Ashbourne to the longer route into Dovedale.

A huge variety of climbing for all abilities in the Peak District and the surrounding areas, with local companies able to arrange tuition.
Matlock Bath
Water sports
Rapid Horizons run kayaking, canoeing, white water rafting, river tubing and paddleboarding at nearby Matlock Bath. Canoe and kayak hire and paddleboarding are also available at Tittesworth Water, about 30 minutes drive away.
15 min drive
Wild Park
Paintballing, quad biking, laser tag and archery in the Derbyshire countryside. Great for all ages and highly recommended for a full day out.
Ages 10 and over
Tree top adventure
Climb through the canopy, with cargo nets and zip wires to finish. Go Ape Buxton sits next to Poole’s Cavern and Country Park.
There is more besides: horse riding lessons and trekking at Matlock Farm Park from four years old upwards, and taster sessions in paragliding, hang gliding, paramotor and microlight flights with Airways Airsports.
